Because of their low-fat high-fiber vegetarian diet, vegetarians frequently have o lower incidence of diseases, including some forms of cancer, and coronary heart disease.

 

Vegetarians are much less likely to be overweight, or clinically obese.

 

Vegetarians are not at risk from the germs carried by dead animals, or from traces of the drugs, they may have been given.

 

For the Animals Sake

 

Vegetarians don't eat meat, so they do not condone the cruelty to animals that often occurs, particularly in factory farming.

 

For the Environments Sake

 

It is not widely known that animal waste is considered to be a major threat to our environment, because of its effect on global warming.   If more people were vegetarian, fewer farm animals would be required, and our overcrowded planet would benefit.

Those people, who may have thought about becoming vegetarian, but faltered, can take it one step at a time.  Gradual progress towards vegetarianism, and a healthier lifestyle, is better than no progress.  So, if you have been hesitant to take the plunge, start with one or two meat free days per week.  Once you have tried some of the delicious vegetarian alternatives, to a meat inclusive diet, and started to feel better in the process, it is doubtful that you will want to return to your old habits.
